    Motorola G100, likely global version of Edge S, is seen on Geekbench

    In January, Motorola announced the Moto Edge S in China, the world's first smartphone to sport the Snapdragon 870, Qualcomm's latest chip. Now, it seems, we will have a version for markets outside of Asia with practically the same settings, but with a different name. According to the listing spotted on Geekbench, it should be called Moto G100.

    The documentation with the results of the benchmark tests shows the processor nicknamed "nio", nickname given to the Snapdragon 870, which in turn will work together with 8GB of RAM and running Android 11. In the case of the Edge S, the device is offered also with the option of 6GB of RAM. When only one processor core was tested, the score reached was 957 points, while in the multi-core department the result was 2.815.



    So far, the manufacturer has not revealed even a detail or information about the alleged Moto G100, but rumors say that this model should be announced soon, and that it will basically serve as the main entry in this new phase of the G line. in new air for this line that was so successful in previous years, and with the recent arrival of the Moto G10 and G30, the G100 should add even more to the company's cost-benefit model catalog.

    What to expect from the Moto G100?

    If the information that it will be a rebranded Edge S is correct, we can expect the Moto G100 to load pretty much the same settings.



    So, in addition to the processor and RAM memory confirmed by Geekbench, the smartphone should arrive with a 6,7-inch IPS LCD screen and FHD+ resolution (1920 x 1080) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. For internal storage, two options are expected, being 128 or 256 GB with support for expansion via microSD card.

    In terms of cameras, a triple configuration should be present at the rear, being led by a 64 MP main sensor, plus a 16 MP ultrawide, and another 2 MP for capturing depth data. For selfies and video conferences, the front camera must consist of a dual module, 16 MP + 8 MP. To close, the battery must be 5.000 mAh, and a 20W charger must be included in the box.
