A more serious start but quite Devil May Cry

The game starts showing your protagonist Black, the same character who starred in one of the previous games in the series, the Devil May Cry 4, along with the mysterious V, one of the characters that was recently added to the new game.

Nero splurging on his new look

The game at the beginning uses that classic context of showing the enemy behind everything that is happening, introducing the demon called Urizen, where he proves to be an opponent more than the height of Dante Alighieri and the team devil may cry composed by Trish e Lady, both characters also from the previous games.

After proving unbeatable, Urizen defeat Dante Alighieri, which makes Black e V retreat to gain strength and this is where the game finally begins.

Forgetting the past and moving on

One thing that definitely catches the player's attention right at the beginning is that in the game menu, there is an option called Devil May Cry Story, something we don't see much in game sequels these days.

Video that summarizes the history of the game present within it.

This option shows a short video that explains in a summarized and well-illustrated way the history of the previous games, and also shows that the Capcom and the developers decided to remove the DmC franchise history, he being the Devil May Cy most recent and also the most critically acclaimed.

DmC, the last acclaimed title in the franchise and was the most recent to date.

A new meaning to the hack n' slash genre

Devil May Cry 5 is an action game that relies on hack n' slash mechanics as its main mechanic (a game with constant action and button crushing). As in previous games, DMC5 It's basically about attacking, attacking faster, attacking harder, shooting, shooting harder, smashing and obliterating your enemies!

The fluidity of how the new game's combat lies is something that should definitely be praised. Adding new combos and new mechanics so you can take full advantage of not only the fun of smashing your enemies, but also the ease of combos and high scores in combat.

Guess those demons regretted crossing Nero's path, huh...

Em Devil May Cry 5 , the player starts by controlling Black, initially showing off his new abilities and resources he can use in battle. Standing out one above all the others is definitely his Devil Breaker, a mechanical arm that Nero uses to change his fighting form during the game.

The game also has several exchange options, satisfying the style of any player, be it the one who is more in the comfort zone or even the one who likes to explore everything the game has to offer.

Nico leaves his charismatic presence in almost every moment of DMC5

Nico, the new extremely charismatic character that was introduced in the new game, is responsible for manufacturing the new Devil Breakers with special functions, also having the option to assemble your own “comb” of mechanical arms.

This causes you to vary your fighting style as each one is destroyed. Unfortunately, there is no option to switch between Devil Breakers during combat, which left a little to be desired, as you can only switch from one arm to the other once the current one is destroyed.

Another Devil Breaker used by Nero

still with the Nico, there's that classic shop from all over Devil May Cry, where you buy items, combos, or interactions for the character you're currently controlling. Having different variations between them but maintaining a certain air of equality, such as, for example, the ability to race to buy that they all have in common.

Right after doing a bit of game progression with Wildman, we can finally play with the first secondary character, the mysterious V. In a universe where everyone has swords, weapons, demonic transformations and bazookas, he uses magic to perform his blows.

The Mysterious V, Devil May Cry 5's Newest Playable Character

A bold addition to the game and surprisingly fun, V summons three familiars to face the enemies: Griffon, an eagle with a very charged sense of humor; Shadow, a black leopard; and by utilizing his special form, he summons Nightmare, a golem brought from the underworld.

Griffon, one of V's family members

Using the buttons on the controller to attack with the beasts, V like a good necromancer, he just watches the fights and delivers the final blow to the demons, but it's his invocations that take care of all the carnage and brawl.

In the game we also control Dante Alighieri, the notorious demon hunter who stars in nearly every game in the series. Using his sword and dual pistols, Dante Alighieri is easily the most charismatic character in the entire franchise, the simplest to play and of course, lavishing charisma.

Dante showing he's not to be trifled with (Or maybe he is)

In its mechanics, in addition to its weapons and the option to exchange them, it has the alternative of switching between different fighting styles outside or during combat, these styles being Swordsman, Gunslinger, Trickster and Royal Guard. This mechanic that was already present in previous games but is now more fun than ever, making Dante Alighieri easily the most “complete” character in the game.

Bang, bang, bang, pull my Devil Trigger!

But not just about beatings, shooting and a good old comedy that makes Devil May Cry 5 being what it is, one thing that's definitely worth noting is its soundtrack.

The famous saying “Everything is better with music” was certainly said with devil may cry in mind, and what's the point of kicking demons' ass without a good soundtrack isn't it?!

Dante and his new Dr. faust

DMC5 has heavily marketed its soundtrack and it's sure to be duly noticed throughout the game, making you beg for more and more enemies to appear to face you as you listen to the main theme of Devil May Cry 5, Devil Trigger.

Dante showing all he's capable of

It's not just with the main theme that the game makes you more and more captivated by it with every minute you play, it's also with a soundtrack composed of rock and metal themes and sometimes even violins at the right moments.

These elements make you fall in love with everything Devil May Cry 5 wants to show you, making each encounter with different enemies properly remembered.

More realistic graphics, new graphics engine, but something is still missing

DMC5 definitely stands out as it makes its way back into the gaming world with totally revamped graphics thanks to RE Engine, the new graphics engine from Capcom – by the way, it is the same engine that gave life to Resident Evil 7 e Resident Evil 2 Remake, and which now shows everything it is capable of and a little more in Devil May Cry 5.

The character Nico rendered in the same
engine que deu vida a Resident Evil 2 Remake, a RE Engine.

The game has wonderful cutscenes rendered in a beautiful graphics engine, and an impeccable American voice acting, both bring to life the iconic characters of the franchise and new ones added, but something is still missing.

Review: Devil May Cry 5 and Capcom's Rise to the Gaming World
Lady, Trish and Nico form an absolute Girl Power in Devil May Cry 5.

Devil May Cry has always been synonymous with fun, and certainly the new DMC5 stands out for exhaling exactly that same energy. Full of funny moments, priceless dialogues and wonderful gameplay. But why can't we still play with the female characters? The three characters gain a lot of focus in some cutscenes present in the game and two of them, Trish e Lady, gained a new face with the new game. However, they are not yet available to play.

also rendered in the RE Engine.

If you're a more nostalgic fan, you've probably been content with just playing with Dante Alighieri ou Black, but thanks to the new Devil May Cry 5, at times we have the freedom to choose between the three male characters to play, but no female characters.

Character selection present in some moments of the game.

In some moments during the game, the game shows both Trish e Lady defeating demons. Who knows, maybe we'll have something to make them playable in the future? A dlc who knows? We just have to wait.

Above expectations, overflowing to the top and in style!

Devil May Cry 5 it certainly makes its mark in the gaming industry as an example of what a hack n' slash game should be: a lot of fun! Every bit of it feels like a little bit from the producers to the fans, like a gift. Whether in the sound effects, in the gameplay or in the soundtrack chosen in a selective way to highlight each important moment shown throughout the game.

Review: Devil May Cry 5 and Capcom's Rise to the Gaming World
Dante always prepared for everything that crosses his path.

DMC5 definitely sign the Capcom as one of the biggest gaming companies today, making the rest of the companies in the market shudder and make fans more and more anxious for each release to come.

devil may cry 5 is an extremely fun game and recommended for everyone, especially for fans of the franchise for a long time. A fun gameplay, stupidly funny moments, a story in the right measure and a perfect soundtrack for the style that the game presents.
