Recently released, and betting on a novelty in the series games, WarioWare: Get It Together! comes full of new features, including the use of characters from the franchise in microgames, the addition of weekly challenges and a greater focus on the multiplayer mode, now almost always present. Returning to its origins, the title bets on the already traditional scheme of short games by thematic phases, bringing with it several changes, a super exciting environment, in addition to revealing a catalog of more than 200 microgames that live up to the excellent first party library of the hybrid console from Nintendo

Back to the party and in style!

It had been a while since we were presented with a new game from WarioWare series with all those simple and fast microgames we (hateed…) loved so much. Since the last game in the franchise, WarioWare Gold, released for the 3DS in 2018, fans of the minigame series from Wario and co. they were so thirsty for another title that they even queued up in front of the producer on the day of its release… well, in fact, the game's history pointed to this fact, only on the other side of the coin!

    A linda Diamond City.

With an introduction capable of exalting the nostalgia of the fans, presenting a Diamond City in overwhelming graphics, limpid and characteristic of the series, we are placed inside a plot crazed, super characteristic of the universe Wario, which serves as a background for the main Story Mode do game. Ei-la:

The day dawns beautiful with the launch of a heavyweight title in the city, Super Pyoro, where you can see a giant waiting line and children happy to acquire the game first hand. In the background, a little further away from this movement, is the company WarioWare, Inc., with its team of developers madly arranged in the room, until the moment when Wario decrees your game is finished and a strange event puts everyone inside your game which, amazingly (or not), is full of bugs and needs to be fixed!

An ordinary day at WarioWare, Inc.

All this introduction gives atmosphere to the game and makes us realize the real characteristic of the WarioWare series, which uses super varied and unusual elements to give color to its tangle of characters, each with different stories and characteristics, even though they all work together in a very free environment. The development of this epic follows the typical pattern WarioWare of being, putting on stage the personal stories of each of the members of the Wario team, presented on the small screen, or on the big screen (as the player prefers), from their phases in CGs lively and very well characterized.

    That's how the party starts!

    Join Wario and the gang

One of the most interesting and innovative things in this novo WarioWare is the implementation of use of characters to interact with microgames, leaving aside its generic use or that simulated the player himself from his hands or with the use of accessories. This brought a new perception to the game, guaranteeing the use of the characters' own abilities to perform the quick tasks, which, many times, makes them more difficult or easier, depending on the choice made. Furthermore, WarioWare: Get It Together! makes it possible for a second player to command within the microgames, adding a different flavor to their resolutions.

    Unite!

A Wario's class is quite varied and a list with several characters from the franchise, including unlockables, can be used. The well-known members of the troupe are back, as Wario, Mona, 9 Volt, Dr. Crygor, Kat & Ana e Jimmy T, to name a few, and available to be controlled, in addition to other new additions that can be unlocked throughout the adventure. A character screen is presented and grants the player the choice of teams of three to five players, or using all, to embark on the stages and take turns during the challenges that arise.

Dribble & Spitz join the team.

And speaking of characters, each one has a different ability. Citing examples, Wario can fly with its jetpack and has the power to attack sideways, since Mona you can ride on the floor and throw your boomerang, 18 Volt can throw discs to attack enemies and hang from rings and Kat & Ana they jump non-stop while they can fire shurikens to the right or left respectively. It should be noted that some challenges fit more easily on some characters, while others may become nearly impossible to perform. Almost… because these same microgames are sometimes modified in order to ensure greater accessibility.

Make the right choice and good luck!

This guarantees, at times, a feeling that luck can prevail when the character is chosen on the screen from among those selected initially. However, when played in pairs, that's where the party becomes more complete, with each player being able to use a different member to prevail in their skills, making the party even more strategic! However, some challenges that involve greater precision on the part of the characters can become more difficult to perform when played in cooperative multiplayer.

    Wisely thought out microgames.

To make things a little less confusing, given the variety of powers and characters available, each time a character is inserted into the game, explanations are posted and a test arena to get to know its basic commands. Also, before each microgame launched on the screen and the keyword that will define its objective, it is possible to see and even test the commands of the character that will be used.

    Test the character's skills.

    Microgames to lose sight of…

The “real” development team for this novo WarioWare knew how to use and abuse its microgames, all very well developed and separated by themes, ranging from scenarios inspired by nature games, undergoing adaptations technological, sections involving cooking, sports, Nintendo games, among others. The classics are back, along with many others, in a total of 220 microgames enabled in Story Mode!

prepare-se for counting people, developing images, memorizing formulas, avoiding obstacles, searching for the telephone signal, preventing fires, fighting bandits, fleeing in helicopters, feeding animals and much more. It is worth remembering that the bonus and boss stages, the Boss Stages, are also present. All very fun and revisiting a lot of the charm and character of the series.

    Lots of fun microgames!

The different modes that the game presents always seek to insert microgames into the main scope, even if for new perceptions. Double play, accessible from the same Switch by sharing the Joycons, or through the Local Wireless, in which two Switches are connected via the same local network (we miss an online mode, Nintendo...), was also responsible for a large part of the change in this novo WarioWare, whose objectives are always aimed at the work in group, in addition to the varied powers of the characters. Microchallenges such as plug the two holes of a nose or that of survive a closing mouth that is missing two teeth illustrate the above.

    That's Life microgames overview

Collect coins and get rich with Wario

The first thing we thought of when we saw the new title WarioWare: Get It Together! é, bom, the microgames, but this time, many new features have been added to the package. Right off the bat, we have the Missions, a space to receive bonuses regarding the missions carried out in the game, which brings a novelty aspect and increases the replay factor by putting the player to perform tasks such as reach level 46 or higher in That's Life level, or else unlock all Nintendo Classic microgames, all in exchange for Wario Coins.

Complete all quests and become a Poké Master…

And that's where one more detail comes in: the Wario Coins they are the currency in the game and you can do everything you can to get more and more of them throughout the game through its different modes. They can be used to purchase items and also to advance in the Story Mode through the purchase of Continue, making the first “beat” a little less frustrating. Complementary sections are also included, such as the play-o-pedia, where all unlocked microgames can be viewed and replayed; it's the Crew, a place to get items, unlock arts, view stats, check characters and be able to increase your job and customization levels through new colors and styles.

The Variety Pack is full of stand-alone minigames

In addition to the microgames of Story Mode, which remains the main focus, WarioWare: Get It Together! count with two other super fun game modes: or Variety pack and the Wario Cup. The first is a selection of minigames that can be played individually or with up to four people, separated by competition and party games, with emphasis on the Frenemy Frenzy, in which two to four players are put into a battle arena with platforms and items at the best Super Smash Bros style.. The Wario Cup, another super addition, is a game mode in which weekly challenges are placed to be scored in order to obtain trophies and lots of coins.

    Frenemy Frenzy

    An explosion of fun

Given all the content that the game has to offer, we could not fail to praise the fun and the graphic and sound aspects that the game provides. With gorgeous graphics, even in a specific 2D format, we often feel like we're watching a cartoon network cartoon, given the brightness of images and relaxation that the arts and all the coloring is presented to us. The magic is completed when we increase the sound volume and enter the universe of WarioWare: Get It Together! with its unique, super themed and engaging features.
