Crossover between 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider' and 'Final Fantasy XV' is confirmed

During the panel presentation at PAX East, Square Enix confirmed another crossover planned for Final Fantasy XV, this time it will be with Lara Croft's upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider adventure. The publisher commented that a collaboration of some sort between these two games is coming soon, but didn't provide further information on the case.

Not much is known about Lara Croft's next game either. In the first instance, only the release of a Shadow of The Tomb Raider teaser was released last month, with brief scenes that show the character in a new location.

The release date is set for September 14 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game has already been confirmed to be the final chapter in the modern reboot of the Tomb Raider games. According to a tweet from the game's Twitter profile, the full reveal of the game and all of its gameplay is planned to be released on the 27th of this month.

Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy have already collaborated. In the popular mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Lara Croft made an appearance in a sprite inspired by her appearance in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.

However, this will in fact be the first time that Tomb Raider collaborates with FFXV, the latter that has already crossed over with many other games, the most famous being Assassin's Creed Origins.

For Final Fantasy fans, there's a lot of news to come. The game's storyline, for example, is set to continue through additional content updates coming next year. A few other characters will get their own original DLC, which are very similar to episodes of Ignia, Gladious, and Prompto. Plus, some future characters have been confirmed that include Luna, Noctis, Aranea, and Ardyn.
