    2K Games Announces New Studio, Cloud Chamber, and Next Bioshock Title

      Recently, game publisher 2K Games announced the creation of a new studio, Cloud Chamber. According to the games publisher, the newly created game development team will be responsible for the project of creating a new title for the Bioshock franchise.

      Cloud Chamber will be managed by Kelley Gilmore, a 2K veteran who has worked on games like Civilization and XCOM. The studio has two locations, one in San Francisco and one in Montreal. According to Kelley:

      "We founded Cloud Chamber to create yet-to-be-discovered worlds - and their inner stories - that push the boundaries of what's possible in the video game medium. Our team believes in the beauty and power of diversity, both in studio composition and in nature. We are a deeply experienced group of game creators, including many responsible for BioShock's long-standing primary creation, advancement and notoriety, and [we are] honored to be a part of the 2K family as stewards of this iconic franchise."



      Kelley will be responsible for the entire operation of the Cloudn Chamber studio, but will be assisted by Ken Schachter, who was previously the manager of Zynga in Toronto and founded the Trapdoor studio.

      The last release of the Bioshock franchise was in 2013 with BiosShock Infinite. However, there was also the launch of the BioShock Collection, in 2016, with the remastering of the first titles: BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
