In the style of PS1: Chasing Static, horror game, will be released in 2021

Chasing Static will be a horror game, which will arrive in the third quarter of 2021, with a style that will pay homage to the great classics of the first PlayStation console. The title will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. On computers, the game already has a demo that can be downloaded from Steam.

Chasing Static is a game that will arrive on new consoles to honor great games that were released in the past, still in the fifth generation. In a press release, Nathan Hamley, founder of Headware Games, recalled that there were many horror titles on PlayStation 1 and stated that the new game tries to honor these classics.

"The PlayStation era had so many horror games that impacted me and gave me nightmares for years. Chasing Static is my attempt to pay homage to these classics and this visual style, while introducing a new generation to the ideas I've been filtering for a while. ."

Chasing Static will put players in the role of Chris Selwood, a character who finds himself trapped in a small diner during a storm. In this restaurant located in the middle of nowhere, Selwood finds a waitress dangling from the ceiling, by a "creature with glowing eyes".

Set in rural Wales, Chasing Static promises to offer a unique take on the narrative adventure genre, featuring new audio-based mechanics and non-linear exploration. In the title, players will have to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned village where its inhabitants disappeared.

Audio-based mechanics will allow players to hunt for anomalies with an experimental frequency shift monitoring device, while exploring the game world at your own pace to uncover secrets in any order you like.

With a look reminiscent of PlayStation 1 classics, Chasing Static will have a 2-hour gameplay campaign.
