400 games are in development for Google Stadia, says director

Stadia, the game streaming service developed by Google, which was launched at the end of last year, is ready to receive a lot of news. The next few years will bring an avalanche of 400 titles, which are already in development.

Jack Buser, Game Director at Google Stadia, revealed that 200 studios are currently in development for 400 games, which will come to the service by 2023.

With more than 100 games added in 2019, Stadia still does not present a variety of content that is very attractive to players, being at a disadvantage compared to the competitor Xcloud, a Microsoft service. In addition, at the launch of the platform, Google made a series of promises such as native 4K games and special features for streamers, but some part of what was promised did not appear for now.

The next few years will be busy

Recently, Google managed to guarantee important attractions for its streaming platform, adding games like Doom Eternal and Borderlands 3, carrying out the acquisition of Typhoon Studios and even confirming that Stadia will soon have Cyberpunk 2077 in its catalog.

With a roster of experienced developers, Stadia has an original studio in Montreal and another in Los Angeles, and has recently partnered with companies like Harmonix, Splash Damage and Supermassive Games. Now, more exciting news claims that, in up to three years, the platform will gain a lot of weight in terms of names available to players.

In an interview with MobileSyrup, Jack Buser stated that his team is practically ending 2021, so they now think of 2022 as a focus, while 2023 is also a goal. The director said that more information about the Stadia release window will be revealed "in the future".
