At the end of last year, AMD released new software for its Radeon family of cards, called Adrenalin. It arrived with a number of features, such as new features that allowed users to take greater advantage of the power of their GPUs.
However, even with so many promises, it was difficult not to escape the bugs and some glitches. One of them appears in version 17.12 and greatly affects the performance of several titles that relied on older APIs, especially DX9.
- Nintendo 64 - 25 years: The 10 best games
- Can violent games make young people commit crimes?
Below is the list of games affected by the issue:
- C&C3 Tiberium Wars
- C&C3 Kane's Wrath
- C&C Red Alert 3
- C&C Red Alert 3 Uprising
- C&C4 Tiberian Twilight
- Battle for Middle Earth 1-2
- The Witcher Enhanced Edition
In addition, to make matters worse, it seems that the bugs will remain unresolved, as AMD itself revealed that it would not do anything to change the situation, as the affected games are old.
The company, however, said it prefers to focus on developing newer titles.
"This title is from 2007, so it is unlikely to devote any valuable engineering resources to this issue, which is possibly caused by outdated APIs."
As we can see, AMD will not focus on its efforts to get around the situation. In this way, classic games will continue without a solution. The company's idea is interesting, to focus on more current games, even so, those who enjoy older games may be disappointed in the brand's attitude.
