Audeze Launches Headphone Audiophile Gamer - LCD-GX

Audeze is a headphone manufacturer located in the US state of California. The company is known worldwide for its headphones with magnetic planar drivers (learn more about the headphone technologies here). The magnetic planars manufactured by her are not simple headphones, they are aimed at the audiophile audience and consequently have a very different sound from the rest of the "gamers" headphones.

Before we start talking about the newest release of the brand itself, it is important to talk a little about some myths that run around peripherals, more specifically gamers headphones or headsets. There are more and more headphones options on the market that claim to be aimed at gaming, however, the vast majority do not offer a quality that follows the price charged for them.

The first myth that many users end up falling for and paying even more for this "technology" is multichannel. The idea of several dynamic drivers (learn more about the technologies of the headphones here) on the side of a headphone or a simulation of them (which is even worse) is an idea that is simply impractical in physical terms, because to really get a multichannel as in speakers, a specific placement is required for each speaker and a mandatory distance between them, which does not occur in headphones (for obvious reasons). As a result of this impossibility of multichannel satisfactorily, stereo headphones, which have a driver per side, achieve (when well done) a superior performance with the same value.

      Audeze LCD-GX headphone structure

      • Minimum and recommended requirements to run Fortnite on PC in 2022
      • Minimum requirements to play PUBG on PC

Some traditional manufacturers in the professional audio field have been trying to change this scenario, such as the German Sennheiser and Beydynamic and the Japanese Audio Technica. Audeze some time ago also did a test to see the possibility of entering this gaming headphones market with the Audeze Mobius headphones that were a big hit in the market! Confident then, Audeze, seeing a possible market for high performance (audiophile) gaming headphones, launches its first gaming headphone, the Audeze LCD-GX!

We believe that the Audeze LCD-GX is currently the most capable headphone in terms of sound quality in the gaming headset market. It was based on the Audeze LCD-MX4 headphone according to reports, this already gives us an idea of what it is capable of providing for a gamer user. As the new headphone was created for this type of audience, Audeze's biggest concern was the weight of its headphones, due to the magnetic planar technology (learn more about headphone technologies here), and with that in mind, the company made its product using a magnesium alloy (density approximately 1.81 g/cm³). Through the extremely light magnesium alloy added to the comfortable pads and the headband as well, the Audeze promises hours of "gambling" without discomfort. We can also see a red screen that should probably help in terms of isolating external noise compared to other models of the brand, such as the Audeze LCD-2C, collaborating even more for a better gaming experience.
