Behavior Interactive apologizes after dev controversy over Colorblind Mode

Behavior Interactive, the developer of Dead By Daylight, has publicly apologized to players following comments from one of its developers. Recently, designer Ethan Larson has been annoyed by requests for a Colorblind Mode for the game. Ethan Larson criticized fans who have been requesting this addition to the title and stated that "it was getting really annoying this request all the time".

The designer's words resonated with the community and his comment was obviously not well received. The situation took great proportions to the point that Behavior Interactive decided to speak publicly.

    Repercussion

In addition to the community expressing itself against the words of the designer, Steven Spohn, director of operations at Able Gamers, also commented on the case and was uncomfortable with the words of Ethan Larson. Spohn took to his Twitter to talk about the matter and tag the official Dead by Daylight account.

it makes me sad to hear this coming from a developer who is "Getting bored" of people "blabbing about colorblind mode"

But @DeadByBHVR, if you're tired of "being badgered about it" imagine how tired people are of not being able to play your game because it's inaccessible to them https://t.co/6CnUwG7sDK

The developer responded to Spohn's tweet by thanking him for reporting the matter and stating that this is not the team's opinion. Additionally, Behavior also reported that Colorblind Mode is already in development and will soon be available in the game.

This is not how we wanted to reveal this, but we feel it's the right time... we have been working on a colorblind mode for some time now and we are planning on a release shortly.
