Black Dragons wins BRK and is champion of the first stage of the Espaeirão Rainbow Six 2017

A historic night for Rainbow Six Siege players and fans. Now, Spain has the national champion of the sport. The long-awaited final of the tournament, played between traditional organizations in the scenario, ended in a surprising way for more than 200 thousand spectators, who followed it live on Ubisoft e-Sports channels. Black Dragons and BRK E-Sports faced each other in a confrontation in which the expectation was balance from start to finish. But BD was dominant and gave no chance to its opponent. In a best-of-five map series (MD5), the team went 3-0 and won the coveted Elite Six trophy, destined for the best team in the tournament.

Thiago "Thyy" Nicézio and Nino "NinexT" Pavolini, from the champion team, were especially motivated for this final. This is because this competition also marked their retirement from the sport. Therefore, the desire to win the title of the competition became even greater.

    Championship team

The decisive match put, once again, the two line-ups that decided the first season of the Latin America division of the Rainbow Six Pro League face to face. On that occasion, BD, formed by the current BRK line-up, won the V3 Masters athletes, who today make up the Black Dragons. Also, with their current lineups, they dueled in the division semifinals in the second season of the Pro League. And gave BRK.

With this factor, the final confrontation gained a rematch atmosphere, leaving the teams even more motivated. Best for the Black Dragons line-up, which celebrated yet another title and confirmed its tradition in the scenario.

    Comparison

The start of the final couldn't be better for Black Dragons. Playing on the Consulado map, the team, formed by Thiago "Thyy" Nicézio, Nino "NinexT" Pavolini, Pedro "pzdd" Dutra, João ''Kamikaze'' Gomes and Gustavo ''Psycho'' Rigal, did not give opportunities to BRK and scored an undisputed 5-0, even playing on the map chosen by their opponent.

On the second map, Fronteira, the duel was more balanced. The disputes were so intense that something unprecedented happened: a tie in the round. The match, which was 2 to 2, went to 3 to 3. BRK, formed by André "Nesk" Oliveira, Júlio "Júlio" Giacomelli, Lucas "Yuuk" Rodrigues, Leo "Zigueira" Duarte and Leone "One" Kayque, showed why he was in the final of the competition and reacted after the setback suffered in the first map. However, the improvement in the team's performance was not enough to overcome the tight line-up of BD, which won 5-3, opening 2-0 in the series and staying one map away from the title.

The Bank map was Black Dragons' first chance to end the series. And the team did not waste. Once again showing rapport and well-crafted tactics, BD was relentless, preventing any chance of a reaction from BRK. Dominant, the team did not stop until they made it 5 to 1 on the third map, closing the best-of-five series (MD5) at 3 to 0 and becoming champion of the Spaineirão Rainbow Six 2017.

    Receiving the trophy

With a feeling of "duty accomplished" as he bid farewell to the competitive Rainbow Six scene with the title, Thiago "Thyy" Nicézio commented on the determining factors for victory. "To be honest, we expected a much tighter match at the beginning. We managed to make it 5-0 on the first map in an unexpected way. Afterwards, they balanced the game more, but we managed to adapt our tactics well to win the confrontation. projects for the future and to retire with this mug is a very good feeling", highlighted the player, one of the main names of the team in this achievement.

Nino "NinexT" Pavolini, who also ended his career after the conquest, pointed to the confidence shown by the team as crucial to seeking victory: "Before the match started, our expectation was a 3-1 or a 3-2 But we were very confident, I've never seen Psycho play as loose as he is today. I think, in the end, we had 'more bullet' and that's what counted".

Without winning the title, Leone "One" Kayque believes that the defeat was more due to the opponent's merits than to his team's mistakes: "We kept our pattern of play. We didn't change our way of playing. There were some mistakes, but I think the BD's victory was built more on their own merit".
