Call of Duty: Warzone gets private matches and high-res textures

This week Call of Duty: Warzone players got a big news, private matches. The news was announced at the same time as the announcement of the notes for the latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone (the one that has approximately 33GB). According to Infinity Ward, private matches in Warzone are a beta version, and require multiple player counts to start the match.

Minimum requirements to run Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PC

There's no doubt that the Proved Matches were a nice addition to Warzone, but the minimal player count means that the usability won't be accessible to everyone. It is likely that over time Infinity Ward will lower the minimum number of players so that users can play without much hindrance.

In addition to private matches, bugs have also been fixed. Among them, the main one is one that makes players switch to third person in Survive. There was also the correction of some weapons, but the balance of them was not changed apparently.

Speaking exclusively of Warzone, the developers removed Juggernauts from Bunker puzzles. This action is being positive for players who find the map dominated by Juggernauts most of the time at the end of the game.

    Added standalone loadouts in Warzone

While not mentioned in the patch notes, players have reported that standalone loadouts have been added to Warzone. That is, now the Warzone loadout selection will be independent of Modern Warfare.

    PC version gets texture streaming

Infinity Ward has made high resolution textures available for players to download while playing using On-Demand Textures Streaming. This technology was developed to reduce the overall size of the game, taking away textures that are rarely used or encountered by players. If players find an operator or weapon that has a high resolution texture, it will be streamed to the PC cache as needed.

The texture streaming setting is located under Options on the Graphics Tab in the Details and Textures section. It's worth noting that this textures feature will only be present for people who play with texture resolution set to high. You can limit the daily texture streaming and cache size.

Unfortunately on consoles there is no texture streaming, but an optional high resolution texture pack is available for download.

High resolution texture DLC pack on consoles

On PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, players are prompted to download texture DLC when first connecting to Warzone or Modern Warfare. However, in the case of PS4 and Xbox One, the DLC request will not appear, it will be necessary to go to the game's installation menu to download and install the texture pack.

When we go to next-gen consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X, there will be a prompt to download DLC when first logging into the game. For Xbox Series S players, you will need to access the game installations menu to download.

its for all consoles but is only recommended for ps4 pro / ps5 / xbox one x / xbox series x

you can access it from the game installs menu in the options - if you dont see it in the list, try restarting MW/WZ.

Paul Haile, director of production at Infinity Ward, posted on Twitter saying that while the high-res texture DLC pack is not on all consoles, it is recommended for the PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One X, and Xbox Series X. Paul even says that the update reduces the size of Modern Warfare and Warzone "considerably" on all platforms, reaching more than 25GB. The reason for this is because the high resolution textures have been reworked for the new high resolution package for consoles and PC.
