Captain America is now in Fortnite

Earlier in the week rumors surfaced that Fortnite would soon receive the Captain America skin. Speculation about the Marvel hero arose after a post made by leaker HYPEX on the social network Twitter. So, this Thursday (2), Epic Games confirmed the hypothesis by announcing the arrival of the American comic book superhero in Fortnite.

To acquire Captain America, it is necessary to spend 2000 V-bucks (Fortnite currency), the equivalent of approximately 20 dollars. When purchasing the Marvel hero skin, the player will also receive the famous Captain America shield, which will function as an in-game tool (with the function of a pickaxe) rather than a cosmetic item. The shield had already appeared in the game before, but it appeared as a special item in an Avengers-themed mode and then it was no longer possible to use it, as the item was available for a limited time.

Armed with his indestructible shield and iron determination, Super Soldier Captain America will face any obstacle that comes his way.

In addition to the new Captain America skin and shield, a new superhero-themed fireworks emote has also been made available. It might be fun to use it to celebrate US Independence Day on the island of Fortnite. The amount charged for the emote is 300 V-bucks.

Fortnite has a great history of adding skins based on American comic book characters. Last season Deadpool was made available to players as part of the battle pass and now Aquaman will be playable through the same mechanic as the previous season. The studio also went so far as to sell Black Widow and Star-Lord (Peter Quill) as part of last year's Avengers crossover, in addition to last season's X-Force skins.

In addition to the skins mentioned above, some DC skins such as Harley Quinn, Batman and Catwoman were also released.
