CD Projekt Red opens its 1st Canadian studio today

The studio responsible for the Cyberpunk and The Witcher franchises, CD Projekt Red, continues to expand more and more. Today the Polish game developer takes another step and opens its office in Vancouver, Canada.

In March of this year, CD Projekt announced the purchase of Digital Scapes, a partner company of the studio for three years, to establish itself in Canada. The new studio in Vancouver is now one of the company's three main ones, with the other two located in the cities of Krakow and Wroclaw, Poland.

CD Projekt Red's CTO and Head of Production Paweł Zawodny says:

"For three years we have worked together and we trust them completely. Digital Scapes worked hard during the production of Cyberpunk 2077, assisting in the development of the game and optimizing its various features. In addition to contributing to our projects, the new team will help us to improve our technologies and will enhance our competencies in this regard. We believe the talented team at Digital Scapes is the perfect foundation on which to build a broader CD Projekt Red Vancouver team."

CD Projekt Red Vancouver manager Marcin Chudy says:

"As a Polish Canadian, I personally take great pleasure in building bridges between the Canadian and Polish game development industries. This is a great opportunity for Canadian developers to get involved with CD Projekt Red's amazing IP and for CD Projekt Red to explore Canada's vast pool of talent and game creation."

CD Projekt Red has several projects in the works

Currently the Polish studio has several projects in the works. Of course, along with the development of new titles, there is a team responsible for improving Cyberpunk 2077. However, the company is also focused on releasing a new mobile game with augmented reality similar to Pokemon Go, The Witcher: Monster Slayer, which will premiere on the 21st of July.
