It was released today by the studio responsible for the titles Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red, informing that the company has suffered a cyber attack. According to the Polish company, there was a hack on their internal systems that stole the source code for Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 and more.

"Yesterday we discovered that we have become victims of a cyber attack specifically against us, due to some of our internal systems having been compromised."
CD Projekt Red Says It Protected Your System And Backups Are Safe
According to the studio, an unidentified individual infiltrated the company's internal network, collected the data and sent a ransom note. CD Projekt Red claims that your backups are still untouched and have protected your system. The game developer says:
"We will not give in to demands or negotiate with the actor, aware that this could eventually lead to the disclosure of compromised data."
Studio says player data was not affected
CD Projekt says it does not believe in player data breaches and is already taking all possible steps to resolve the case.
"We have already approached the relevant authorities, including law enforcement and the President of the Office of Personal Data Protection, as well as IT forensic experts, and we will cooperate closely with them to fully investigate the incident."
