[Cyberpunk 2077] CD Projekt Red boss says the game will be one of the biggest of this generation

Developed by Polish studio CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated titles for the coming year. The game will probably be one of the most beautiful that will debut at the end of the current generation of consoles. This is what CD Projekt's bureau chief John Mamais said, and it's what many gamers and expert critics think alike.

The above answer given by John was given during the interview recently conducted by AusGamers. Throughout the interview, the studio head talks about game development and the company's ambition to always innovate, especially after the great success of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. Along these lines, John says that previously, during the development of the third and final installment of The Witcher series, the studio had approximately 200 collaborators. But now, with the Cyberpunk 2077 project, the company has 500 people.

"We had no idea how many people we needed. When we wrote the initial concept [for Cyberpunk 2077], we didn't know. So we kept growing as development went along. In fact, you don't know how many animators it will take until you have a margin for the number of scenes there will be in the game."

It is promised by the studio that Cyberpunk 2077 will have impressive graphics on all platforms. But, in the case of the PC platform, it will be different compared to consoles, due to the technology used in partnership with Nvidia, real-time Ray Tracing. John says:

"I think Cyberpunk will be a real showpiece in terms of technology. Especially since this console generation is at an end. I think we will be the last, great, exceptional title of the current generation."

      • Minimum requirements to play PUBG on PC

Cyberpunk 2077 will debut on April 16, 2020 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. There is also the promise that the game will come to Google's console, Stadia, but there is still no release date.
