Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed again by CD Projekt Red

One of the most anticipated games of this generation of consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 that is in development by CD Projekt Red, has just been delayed for another 5 months. The news comes straight from the developer with a note posted directly by Twitter.

The news comes as a disappointment to many fans, who are already looking forward to the release of the game that promises to be the biggest and most complex ever made to date.

The official note comes directly from the Co-Founder and Studio Director of CD Projekt Red, and ends up coinciding with the postponement of the release of Final Fantasy 17, or FFVII, which was also postponed to April 10th of this year, when that the previous date was March 3rd, so at least one more month.

The company note translates the following:

"We have important news regarding the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 that we would like to share with you.

Cyberpunk 2077 will not reach the April release window and we are delaying the release to September 17, 2020.

We are currently at the stage where the game is complete and playable, but there is still work to be done. Night City is massive - full of stories, content, and places to visit, but because of the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing, and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our Crowned Achievement for this generation and delaying release will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.

Look forward to more regular updates on development progress as we get closer and closer to the release date.

After the announcement, many fans were angry and complained in various forums and news, but we cannot fail to recognize the effort and dedication that the developer has brought to its latest releases, which include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. One of the biggest games of the decade and it won the Game of the Year (GOTY) award, the highest award in the video game industry.
