Doom Eternal received a new update that recreates the appearance of the 1st game

Recently, the studio id Software, responsible for the development of Doom Eternal, released the second update for the title. Among the novelties, new rendering modes have been implemented that offer a new gaming experience with different visual styles. One of them is called Classic and transforms Eternal into a pixelated game with a 256-color palette, similar to the first title in the franchise.

But don't think that these modes are just for taking pictures, it's possible to play with the filter activated and really have the experience of playing Doom as if you were in the 90's. However, if you don't like this style, the developers have made available three other modes of rendering: Gritty, Cinematic and Black & White. To switch between modes, just go to the video settings and test each one to find out which one you like best.

In addition to the different presentation modes for the game, id Software has also added a new Battlemode arena called Torment, where Titans, used as research species, remain trapped. The Eternal's Castle Grayscale mini event is now available with black and white collectibles. There will also be an event soon called Hack to the Future II, where you will be able to unlock Revenant Skeleton collectibles from Doom.

Marty Stratton, executive producer at iD Software, spoke about the developers' intentions for Doom Eternal in the coming months. He said:

"Our team is also hard at work on two campaign DLCs, Invasion Mode, new Master Level experiences, additional BATTLEMODE updates, and the Nintendo Switch version alongside our talented partners at Panic Button. We can't wait to share more details. with you about each of them over the next few months. Thank you all again for your support and enthusiasm."
