During The Game Awards, a new game based on Dungeons & Dragons, Dark Alliance, was announced. It is a game of the hack and slash action RPG genre, where the player controls with a third-person view. Developed by Tuque Games, a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast, the game will be released for PC platform and consoles (models were not specified).
In Dark Alliance, several characters and monsters similar to Dungeons & Dragons are displayed, such as Drizzt Do'Urden and his companions Catti-Brie, Bruenor and Wulfgar, characters that appeared for the first time in the book by writer RA Salvatore. Drizzt previously appeared in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and this title will serve as both its successor and its sequel. Check out the trailer shown below for the game during The Game Awards:
Tuque Games vice president of digital development Jeff Hattem, in a statement along with the announcement of the new game, said his team had had intentions of developing the game for some time. Jeff said:
"From the moment I founded Tuque, our team knew that we wanted to bring our passion for D&D and creativity to the Dark Alliance series"
Dark Alliance will feature dungeon crawling and many other loot, as well as an RPG-style progression mechanic. The title will feature two trainers and online co-op for four players. More details will be available on the game's official website. Its expected release will be in the second quarter of 2020.
