E3 2020 is being canceled according to the latest information

According to GameSpot, through its sources, it has been confirmed that E3 2020 will no longer take place. Rumors surfaced today that the event would soon be officially canceled due to dwindling support from video game publishers and platforms. Added to this, there is still the constant concern about the safety of visitors and participants (companies) in relation to the Coronavirus.

The ESA has not yet officially announced the cancellation, but according to publications, it is almost certain.

Although several sources have confirmed the information, the ESA has not yet officially announced the cancellation. The first rumors came through a tweet by publisher Devolver Digital, in which it told people to cancel their plans to attend the conference. Then the Ars Technica website also communicated through a publication saying about the upcoming cancellation.

Cancel your E3 flights and hotels, y'all.

This fact, should it happen, would mark the first time that E3 would skip its annual event. This cancellation decision is the most recent of many that are taking place around the world due to the heightened concern about the outbreaks of COVIS-19 (Coronavirus). Earlier this month, more specifically on March 6, there were still plans to continue with preparations for E3, however decisions have changed.

Even though there is a great chance that due to the cases of Coronavirus, E3 was no longer doing so well. Playstation was not planning to participate again, Geoff Keighley dropped out of hosting Out Of Coliseum and iam8bit stepped down from the creative director position.

It’s with mixed emotions that @iam8bit has decided to resign as Creative Directors of what was to be an evolutionary #E32020 floor experience. We’ve produced hundreds of gaming + community events and it was a dream to be involved with E3. We wish the organizers the best of luck.
