Everything Bungie announced during the Destiny 2 live stream

After several weeks without any information regarding future updates for Destiny 2, the studio Bungie, responsible for the title, revealed the next three expansions of the game, their plans for the game and much more. While players were hoping to find out what came next in the recently released Season of Arrivals, the developer of Destiny 2 has decided to go the other way, revealing what's to come later.

As per the revelations that have been made recently by Bungie, Destiny 2 will be supported by the next generation console platforms (Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X). That is, if you were waiting for the announcement of Destiny 3, know that it will not be out anytime soon. Check out what Bungie said during its online broadcast below:

In Season of Arrivals players will finally be able to fight the pyramids

The Season of Arrivals has begun and allows players to fight the big black pyramids that are invading the solar system. The mysterious ships have been in evidence for years, and they can finally be seen up close now. This season will also feature a new exotic mission and more, though the studio hasn't actually revealed the full roadmap for the season.

Season of Arrivals includes a dungeon called Prophecy

In this new season we will have a totally new dungeon, where players will be able to learn more about the dark side (dark side or "the Darkness"). The dungeon seems full of puzzles, like a cross between Tron and The Cell.

The next expansion will be called Beyond Light

Scheduled to arrive on September 22, Beyond Light will take place on Europa, the icy moon orbiting Jupiter, where the Exo race likely originated. According to what was shown by Bungie, Beyond Light will have a plot around fighting Eramis, a fallen Kell who intends to gather an army in Europe. This expansion will also introduce a subclass called Stasis.

It is also known that the Cosmodrome, from the first Destiny, is expected to return as a patrol area, along with the strike missions in the game.

All Destiny 2 production will be done for the next generation of consoles

According to Bungie, players will be able to upgrade their consoles to PS5 and Xbox One "at no extra cost". That is, there will be no loss of season passes or expansions during this change. In addition, the studio promises that there will be "intergenerational cross-play". This means that PS4 users will be able to play with those who own the PS5, just as Xbox One players will be able to play with those of the Xbox Series X.

It is unknown when Destiny 2 will release for PS5 and Xbox Series X, but Bungie has said that the game will play in 4K at 60fps.

Bungie intends to alternate Detiny 2 content

The studio intends to distribute, every time a new expansion is released, some of the game's current content and locations, bringing back "classic" Destiny stuff. In the case of Beyond Light, it means the return of Cosmodrome. The old invasions will also return, starting with the Valt of Glass, the first invasion of Destiny.
