Expanding! PUBG universe will win three games in the next two years

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds was largely responsible for the battle royale wave that dominated the gaming market. The title was the predecessor of the other releases that remain firm to this day. Thanks to the game, names like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty Warzone and others have emerged to conquer a considerable space in the industry and accumulate many players, in addition to serving as a very interesting source of income for publishers and developers.

Announced at TGA, The Callisto Protocol will be a horror game in the PUBG universe

    expanded universe

Thinking of increasing the success achieved by PUBG, those responsible are ready to expand the game's universe, delivering different experiences to fans. The already announced The Callisto Protocol, developed by Striking Distance, which even has a scary trailer, is a survival horror in space that will be set in the universe of the famous battle royale. With the project being led by Glen Schofield, co-creator of Dead Space, players can expect the new title to present elements and an atmosphere similar to that of the Electronic Arts trilogy.

However, The Callisto Protocol will not be the only game that will arrive to expand the PUBG universe. In an interview with Bloomberg (Via IGN), Kim Chang-han, CEO of Krafkon, revealed that two more games in PUBG Corp's hit universe will arrive in the next two years.

According to Chan-Han, a new battle royale title will be released in 2021 and will be available for mobile devices. It was also said that in 2022, in addition to The Callisto Protocol, another game set in this universe will be released for consoles and PC.

The goal is to expand PUBG Corp's games to earn profit from different games and not just battle royale.
