FIFA 21 gets an update allowing players to set limits on purchases

In October of this year, EA was accused in Canada of using loot boxes as games of chance. This is not the first time that the North American game developer has been accused of this practice, the Netherlands and Belgium were also territories where the studio faced lawsuits against its microtransaction system. To try to solve or at least mitigate this, the developers of FIFA 21 added in the last update a new feature that will allow you to set limits on the purchase of the game's virtual currency.

In the new update of the football title there is a mention of a new feature called "Playtime" that will allow the player to have more control and visibility over the way he plays the game. According to the Eurogamer website, with Playtime it will be possible for the player (or those responsible) to control how many matches can be played, communication with other players and impose spending limits with the game's virtual currency. It's important to remember that to get virtual coins you don't necessarily need to spend real money to get them, there's the option to get them through FIFA points and in-game packs (check out how to earn coins and save your points here).

With the new tool it will be possible to have a better idea of how much the player spends in points in FIFA 21. However, the game will not be able to tell you the total value of the points you buy with real money. The system developed by EA for FIFA is only able to say how many points have been added to the game's account, that is, it will be necessary to do the math to find out how much real money you spent.
