The Epic Games Store continues to hand out its Christmas gifts, just the way it promised. There will be fifteen days of free games, while every 24 hours a new title will be available to be redeemed in the store. The recent list leaked on Twitter has proven to be more and more accurate, hitting every promotion day so far. So today Epic is giving away Metro: 2033 Redux to fans.
In the first-person shooter title published by Deep Silver and developed by 4A Games, the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event that occurred in 2013. Almost the entire human species was annihilated and the surface of planet earth became a toxic wasteland. Some of the few survivors decided to take refuge in the Moscow subway, while humanity entered a new dark age.
After 20 years, in 2033, an entire generation has been raised underground, on a planet earth in which the cities around the subway fight each other and against terrible mutations that exist in the outside world. As Ayrtom, a man who was raised underground in the subway, you will have to venture beyond the city limits for the first time, on a journey that will take you to find a way to warn what's left of humanity about a terrible danger that get closer.

Developer 4A Games wants to offer a lot of content related to the Metro franchise to its fans. The title Metro Exodus will get a version full of improvements for the new generation of consoles, including support for Ray Tracing. However, this is not the only novelty, nor the most encouraging for the public.
Recently, the developers stated that alongside Saber Interactive, which in turn created World War Z, they are studying a way to bring online multiplayer to the franchise. According to the developer, being a game mode or a totally new release, this project will not interfere with the series' single-player experience. There is even already confirmation that a new title in the already known molds is on the way.
Metro's new single-player journey should make the most of the new consoles, showing everything that the new generation can offer, thus presenting an experience made through the graphics engine that has been completely overhauled.
Multiplayer isn't in development yet, as the developers want to make something that fits the franchise, but it's something that is in the pipeline and will likely be announced in the near future.

Enter the Epic Games website, if you don't have a registration, register. Then search for the game in the store, or use this link. Just go through the "purchase" process of the game, which will be zeroed in the cart.
