    Assassin's Creed 2

From the best to the worst Assassins Creed of the seventh generation of consoles

Ezio was the best protagonist of the franchise.

Ubisoft's artwork. Assassin's Creed 2 brought several innovations after the first title in the saga, being a game with more of its own characteristics and without presenting the same repetition seen in the journey carried out by Altair.

In 1476, Renaissance Italy, Ezio Auditore da Firenze discovers the truth about his father and follows the same path to join the brotherhood of assassins after a tragic event. In this way, Assassin's Creed begins its best "arc", presenting an extremely charismatic character who would have one of the best developments in the gaming world over the years.

Ezio is an excellent protagonist, as the plot of Assassin's Creed 2 is very well written. With an excellent plot full of memorable moments, great characters, a spectacular soundtrack and several other qualities, Assassin's Creed 2 has the essence of the saga and is, to date, the best title in the franchise.

    Assassin's creed revelations

From the best to the worst Assassins Creed of the seventh generation of consoles

Revelations fit perfectly into the journeys of Altair and Ezio.

Revelations brought in an older and more experienced Ezio, but still extremely skilled and steadfast in his ideals. In Masyaf, Syria, the master assassin sought answers about the great Altair.

Assassin's Creed Revelations introduced several new features, including new equipment such as bombs that can be crafted with resources collected during the journey. In addition, the hook blade gave the player new possibilities, causing good gameplay innovations.

Allowing the player to control the legendary Altair in a few moments, Revelations connects the two most important protagonists of the saga with a great plot. With an excellent and well-placed plot, certain innovations and a grandiose ending to the Ezio trilogy, Assassin's Creed Revelations is the second best title of the saga in the seventh generation.

    Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

From the best to the worst Assassins Creed of the seventh generation of consoles

Black Flag was the franchise's first content-packed sandbox.

Black Flag appears here mainly due to its open world. Without presenting a memorable plot like the one seen in Ezio's trilogy, the game starring Edward Kenway manages to stand out for other characteristics and qualities.

Although Ubisoft has tried in Assassin's Creed 3, it was only in Black Flag that the developer managed to deliver a true sandbox. The open world of the franchise's fourth numbered title invites exploration. Packed with locations to discover, items to collect and activities to do, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag also featured excellent navigation, allowing players to explore the seas in search of more challenges.

With exciting moments, lots of content and great use of known pirates, Black Flag was the first Assassin's Creed to present a really interesting world to explore, thus entering our top 3 of the seventh generation of consoles.

    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

From the best to the worst Assassins Creed of the seventh generation of consoles

The ability to summon assassin allies was a nice innovation in Brotherhood.

Brotherhood was Ezio's second game, already showing the character more mature and fully aware of the order and its motivations. With the ability to call in other AI-controlled assassins to offer assistance in combat, the title featured some small innovations and delivered a larger map, but it couldn't stray from the image of being "a big expansion".

Very similar to Asassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood stood out for delivering one of the best plots in the saga, giving direct continuation to the events seen in the second game. The title was also the first to introduce online multiplayer to the franchise.

    Assassin's Creed Rogue

From the best to the worst Assassins Creed of the seventh generation of consoles

Rogue showed the other side of the story.

Being the last game released for the seventh generation, Rogue did not present any flashy innovations. Practically a "Black Flag without pirates", the game was very similar to what had been seen in the last title, but it still shined.

The gameplay innovations with the ship gave the naval combat a bit of originality, but they weren't able to cause the feeling that something really new was present in the title. Rogue excelled in recapturing the franchise's great storylines, delivering a well-developed plot and showing the other side of the story, with players taking on the role of a templar.

The protagonist Shay, after becoming disillusioned with the order of the assassins due to a tragic event, decided to join the Templars because he came to believe that the vision of the "villains" was the most correct. Rogue's greatest asset lies in presenting the Templar vision to perfection. The game's plot goes from the base to Shay's choices and makes players perfectly understand what led the character to the enemy side.

    Assassin's Creed

From the best to the worst Assassins Creed of the seventh generation of consoles

    Altair started
    to a great saga.

If Ezio is the best character, Altair is the most important assassin in the franchise. The character who starred in the first title was responsible for a big change in the order, with this being shown even in Revelations.

The first Assassin's Creed has a lot of problems. The title delivered a repetitive adventure, somewhat locked gameplay and some other negative points, but it managed to show the saga's potential. Altair is a captivating character and his journey through the Crusades was engaging.

The apex of the game was its biggest twist, which certainly surprised the vast majority of players who finished the title. Assassin's Creed served to introduce the saga and relied on the narrative itself to overcome its flaws. Although the game appears in sixth on our list, it is valid to say that the title had its importance in originating a great franchise.

    Assassin's Creed 3

From the best to the worst Assassins Creed of the seventh generation of consoles

Assassin's Creed 3 put Connor in direct involvement with American independence.

Last on our list, Assassin's Creed 3 didn't stand out at all. Its plot does not even come close to the quality of the great plots of the franchise, as well as its open world, despite being large, did not present characteristics that encouraged exploration. Assassin's Creed 3 failed to be a sandbox.

Connor is a character without appeal and with little charisma, leading a story without much inspiration and few really interesting moments.

While the other titles may boast some quality - or some - Assassin's Creed 3 isn't excellent, or anything close to it, in any element or feature.
