Na Inova Arena, the designer and founder of the project "Precious Plastic", Bernardo do Amaral, said that the consumption and post-consumption of plastic caught his attention and he decided to create a solution to minimize the environmental impact.
According to him, 25% of Rio's garbage is plastic and only 3% is recovered in selective collection. With this scenario, the "Precious Plastic" was born. Bernardo unites recycled waste and technology cooperatives and designed a machine that turns plastic into objects such as body carriers, plant supports and even lamps.
