GeForce Now - Plans, Games, and How the Streaming Service Works

GeForce Now arrived in Spain on Thursday (14), being another streaming service that offers the possibility to check several games via cloud. After the very successful arrival of Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce debuts in the country with some differences.

On GeForce Now, you are able to run games purchased from the Steam, Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games virtual stores via the cloud, something different from xCloud, which offers a catalog of titles from the Game Pass Ultimate.

Another difference between GeForce Now and xCloud is the fact that the nVidia service has a free plan, although it has limitations. While xCloud can be used by Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, GeForce Now offers three plan options, with different values.

    Check out the plans below.

    • Free plan - Queue / Limited graphics (GTX)
    • Monthly plan for BRL 44,50/month - No queue / RTX graphics
    • Semi-annual plan for BRL 40,50/month (BRL 243 per semester) - No waiting line / RTX graphics

The first option seems interesting, however it should be considered as an opportunity to just test the service, as there are limitations. In addition to the limited graphics and the queue - which can be long -, the free plan allows the player to check out the titles for just 30 minutes before going back to the queue. It is worth mentioning that in the United States the free plan offers 60-minute sessions.

Paid plans offer 6-hour gaming sessions, taking players to the front of the queue if they wish to continue playing after this period. However, currently even players who have subscribed to the paid plans are facing long queues to check out the games in Spain, something that can be fixed soon.

    Available games

There is a list of over 1000 games available on GeForce Now, with the service working in a different way compared to xCloud. There is no catalog of free games for subscribers, as the service offers the possibility to play the titles you already own via the cloud.

Therefore, you need to log in to your account. Steam, Ubisoft Connect or Epic Games to access the games you've already purchased. Free titles like CS:GO are also available on the service.

Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed franchise games, the Far Cry franchise - including 6 - and several other heavy titles are on the list of available games. Check all the names in this link.
