After many leaks about Genshin Impact's 2.1 update, the miHoYo studio has finally announced all the details about the update that will arrive very soon for the title. Titled "Floating World Under the Moonlight", Genshin Impact version 2.1 reveals two more islands in the Inazuma region, three new characters, and a dramatic moment for the main story.
In Genshin Impact Update 2.1, players will receive, as previously announced, the character Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn for free. In addition, in this update we will have several rewards and several seasonal events in celebration of the 1 year anniversary of Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 2.1
Currently, it is possible to explore Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma islands, three of Teyvat's seven main cities. Each has its own culture, history and landscapes containing different creatures, enemies, mysteries and treasures. As players progress through the game, there will be new cities, stories, characters and events revealed as they progress through the game in this update.
At the moment, in Genshin Impact 2.0 we have the plot revolving around the traveler, the Electro Arc, the Inazuma Arc. As the story progresses, with Update 2.1 players will be able to visit Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island. Also, there will be new bosses like Hypostasis Hydro and Signora.
New characters
In Genshin Impact Update 2.1, players will be able to utilize three main characters from the Inazuma region: Shogun Raiden, Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Kujou Sara.
- Sangonomiya Kokomi is a Divine Priestess from Watatsumi Island, you can read more about her in our character leak article here.
- The Electro Spear wielder, Shogun Raiden, is a 5-star character. Through her Hydro power and a catalyst, the character is able to heal her companions. Find the Raiden Shogun (Baal) Ascension Material List here.
- Kujou Sara is a general of the Tenryou Commission loyal to Shogun. She is a character capable of dealing Electro attacks from a distance using her bow and provides bonuses to her teammates.
Moon Hunt Festival
The Moonhunt Festival will arrive in Update 2.1. The event takes place at the time when friends and family gather in Liyue, where everyone toasts and eats local delicacies in the autumn season. Players will gather during the festival with Keqing and Xiangling, where the origin of the ancient tradition of the event that takes place at the port will be discovered.
For those who love treasures, there will be a great treasure hunting event in Liyue, Mondstadt and the Dragon's Spine, where players will receive rewards and be able to exchange for items and resources, including the 4-star Greatsword and the Sea Lord. Luxurious in the utmost refinement. In addition, you will be able to claim multiple resources and 10 Intertwined Destinations in the new daily login event.
Fishing system
Confirming what was said in the leaks, in update 2.1 we will have the feature fishing for fish across the continent of Teyvat. It will be possible to have fish meats and exchange them for fishing rods or rewards in the Fishing Association. Through the Spirit Cloud Pool, new furniture has been added to the Teapot of Relachá system, where players will be able to keep and feed ornamental fish.
Launch and availability
Genshin Impact Update 2.1 will be available on September 1 (Wednesday) on PlayStation (PS4 and PS5), PC and mobile (Android and iOS) platforms.
