In late June, Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist Aloy was announced as a playable character in Genshin Impact. Aloy's arrival is scheduled for Genhin Impact update 2.2 and many are looking forward to more news about the character from one of PlayStation's top franchises.
It is the first time that Genshin Impact has partnered to bring a character from another game to the title. Although Horizon's new game, Forbidden West, has been delayed to February 18, 2022 and will not have a free PS5 upgrade to boot, miHoYo has decided to forge ahead.
Some Genshin Impact insiders believe that Aloy will appear once more when the release of Horizon Forbidden West is closer. However, nothing has been officially said about this so far, although it is very likely.

During the recent live stream made by miHoYo, the studio responsible for Genshin Impact, we had details about everything that will come in the 2.1 update. Among the news, we received three new characters, as well as new weapons, items and missions. However, considering that the update is approaching its anniversary, there will be important things that will arrive at this time.
Among the information revealed by the studio, it was said that players will be able to control Aloy in Genshin Impact. PlayStation users will need to purchase Aloy in the 2.2 update, which will be available in October this year. To get the protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn, simply connect the Genshin Impact account to the PlayStation Network (PSN).
In the case of Genshin Impact players using PC, it will be necessary to wait a little longer than users of Sony consoles. Only in Update 2.3, scheduled to be released in December 2021, will players be able to acquire Aloy.
