This weekend, in addition to the Genshin Impact concert in celebration of the game's 1 year anniversary, miHoYo announced the release date of the game's update 2.2. Titled "Sea of Mist Mystery", Genshin Impact version 2.2 will debut on October 13, 2021.
According to information provided by miHoYo, Genshin Impact update 2.2 will bring:
"The last of Inazuma's six main islands, plus a new playable character (Thoma), and a host of new challenges and minigames."
Genshin Impact 2.2: What's New?
- 5-star cross-over character Aloy
The first big news is about a long-awaited character in Genshin Impact. Announced in late July, the 5-star cross-over character Aloy is now available for free.

Another interesting revelation is the release of Inazuma's last major island, Tsurumi Island. The place is shrouded in dense fog, where players are likely to get lost. However, in the region there will be several challenges that will spur travelers to explore the area.
Tsurumi Island has many creatures roaming its territory. Among them, the Rift Hound and Rift Hatchlings are dangerous stealthy beasts that lurk in the mist. When any of their attacks hit the player, the "Corrosion" stat will be applied to the traveler's entire team, reducing the health of everyone regardless of shield.
- Investigations to defeat the "Colossus of Ruins Special"
In addition to several quests and creatures, Tsurumi Island will have one of its events, the quest "Shadow of the Ancients", where the player will investigate recent research by a Sumero scholar. To defeat a "Special Ruins Colossus", the traveler will have to carry out investigations in the Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma regions.
- Thoma: new 4-star playable character
The popular "mediator", Thoma, who debuted during the history of the Inazuma region, now returns as a four-star playable character. Thoma has Pyro Vision, as well as wielding a spear. As a companion, he can be used to get a strong defense and a good bonus.
To obtain Thoma, players will have to say the "second prayer", which occurs right after the "first prayer of Childe". It is important to note that the event where Thoma and Sayu meet will be available in the 2.2 update.

For the first time, support for PS5 controller functionality, DualSense, comes to Genshin Impact on PC.

Genshin Impact Update 2.2 will be released on October 13, 2021 and will feature cross-platform support across PlayStation, PC and mobile platforms. Genshin Impact is available for download on PS4, PS5, Android (Play Store), iOS (App Store) and Epic Games Store (PC).
