It was announced by EA Sports that Gustavo Villani will narrate the FIFA 21 games. Gustavo is the fifth speaker in the history of the game franchise in Spain since FIFA 99. In order to maintain the professional's unique narrative, 67 audio files were recorded , including 2000 variations of his famous screams of goal.
Gustavo Villani says:
"It's a turning point in my storytelling career. EA SPORTS FIFA gives me different opportunities: to communicate with those who still don't necessarily follow the day to day of football, but are gamers, children in particular. Or to talk with fans who are gamers at the same time, of any age. After joining Globo, audience leader, it's time to join EA SPORTS FIFA, the world leader in sports simulation. An honor."
For the first time in the series of FIFA in Spanish in Spain, the game will have a third commentator during the narrations of the matches. Andre Sauer will interact with Gustavo Villani in order to inform the results of other games that are happening at the same time of the game being played by the player. It will be a wave of emotions throughout the football match, where important events from other games will be communicated.
During the transition of narrators, Tiago Lifert said on his Instagram profile:
"It is not correct to say that it was a dream to narrate FIFA, because not even in my wildest dreams did I think it was possible. It was the biggest and most pleasant surprise of my career. Ten games. TEN! If I didn't even dream it was possible , imagine staying so long. I loved every message saying "I can't stand your voice here at home anymore!". "Stop bugging me!". "Send an audio to my friend saying he's terrible please". that I was the only case in the world of a storyteller who is a regular player, who knows how frustrating it is to hear "do they even tie now?!" Two years ago I told EA that it was time to prepare for the transition. I've always tried to run my career this way: I think it's important to change course BEFORE the course changes on its own or someone else does. We were at the top, total success, everyone ready to continue... and I think it's EXACTLY at this moment that it is time for the new. EA was as always an amazing partner and accepted my suggestions on howwe should conduct the exchange, with the main objective of doing everything with the necessary calm so as not to interfere with the amount of narration lines. That's a lot of hours! And they also took into account the name that I thought was ideal. Translation: everything came together perfectly. Many thanks to EA for this honor, to my former boss at Esporte Emanuel Castro who sewed the first contract, to the very talented Dani Perassolli (EA) and Charles Dalla (audio direction).
