Hitman 3 will retroactively optimize the first two games

Hitman 3 will retroactively optimize the first two games

The Hitman 3 game may look well defined in Game Informer's gameplay. However, it looks like there will be an improvement for the first titles as well. Following the reveal of a new trailer on New Year's Eve, developer IO Interactive posted on the ResetEra forum saying that there will be technical improvements for Hitman 1 and 2 titles.

According to information provided by the studio IO Interactive, Hitman 1 and 2 gained retroactive improvements when Hitman 3 arrives. The company's team is working to optimize the trilogy's file structures, occupying a total of 100GB. The developer said:

"One thing I think you'll all be happy to hear is that we've managed to reduce the size of the game significantly. All three games with all the content will take up around 100GB.

The biggest gains are due to data management and file structures and how we delivered the game so we could remove duplicate data. We also use newer and better compression for textures - that helps too."

Even occupying a smaller space, those of the first games in the Hitman series will receive small visual updates. In Hitman 3, its graphics engine will receive ambient reflections, which ended up being compatible with previous games. The studio said:

"We definitely had reflections in the other two games, but in fact we updated the engine with screen space reflections and this time there will be a lot more goodness reflected. As an example, the Paris fashion show catwalk floor now fully reflects the models. and the rest of the room, making the whole set look that much more impressive."
