Santos fans have reason to be nervous and excited today (06), as Santos will face Boca Juniors in the semifinals of Libertadores 2020, but the team also made an interesting announcement regarding the world of games. Now, Konami will be an official sponsor of the team.
According to the newspaper A Tribuna, Konami will pay BRL 3 million to Santos and stamp the PES 2021 logo on the number of Santos shirts. Before, the sponsorship was from Orthopride, but the company gave up its contract with the team because of the Robinho case. The PES logo will also appear on the training uniforms, base categories and women's team.
The agreement will also give Konami the right to use the Santos logo and crest in PES promotional content.
Marcelo Frazão, Marketing and Communications Executive at Santos Futebol Clube, praised eFootball PES and stated that the partnership will help attract younger fans to the Santos brand.
