Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game of the Year Edition gets DirectX 12 support

The Game of the Year Edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator will be released on November 18th and will have DirectX 12 support. According to Microsoft in its blog, the update will bring five new aircraft, in addition to 8 more airports, new tutorials and new discovery flights.

Earlier this year, Asobo Studio, the current developer of the Microsoft Flight Simulator game, released an update that brought major performance improvements to the PC platform. With the new update, which arrives in the middle of next month, gamers gained support for DirectX 12, which should further improve performance on some PCs, as it brings improvements to processor (CPU) utilization.

What will change with DirectX 12 support in Microsoft Flight Simulator

With DirectX 12 support, it will be possible to implement Ray Tracing technology effects (see what it is here). Asobo will also add, through the November update, an updated weather system and a replay engine in developer mode.

Xbox will celebrate 20 years in 2021 and Microsoft has prepared several surprises!
