Microsoft is bringing xCloud to iOS and iPadOS via browser

As there are still barriers to game streaming services on Apple's mobile devices (iPhone and iPad), Microsoft is developing a solution that will bring xCloud through iOS and iPadOS browsers. According to information obtained by The Verge, through sources familiar with the Windows developer's plans, the company would be developing a web version of xCloud to work on "apple" mobile devices. However, it was said that Microsoft is still working to make its app also work on the App Store (Apple's app store).

The information mentioned above was revealed during an internal Microsoft general meeting, where Phil Spencer, the company's game director, mentioned the development of xCloud made for browsers. Phil says:

"We're definitely coming to iOS. We're going to be on iPhones and iPads with Game Pass."

Previously, Apple was willing to block any and all game streaming services on its store, claiming that to allow platforms to work on its app store, it would have to review each game that would be made available to iOS and iPadOS subscribers. However, after some time, the company revised its App Store game policies and it is now possible to run games from streaming services smoothly on iPhone and iPad. However, Apple will require game apps to be downloaded individually from the App Store.

    xCloud no PC

During the aforementioned meeting, Phil also addressed Microsoft's plans for xCloud on PC. According to the director of Xbox, this will be a "huge opportunity" for Game Pass and Microsoft's game streaming service. The company's goal is to bring xCloud to Windows 2021 PCs in 10.
