    Microsoft officially announces the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda

    Microsoft announced today the official completion of the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. After a long negotiation process and waiting for the approval of the European Union, the Windows developer finally acquires the different studios that make up Zenimax Media.

    Xbox director Phil Spencer says:

    "It is an honor to welcome eight incredibly talented development studios - Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog and Roundhouse Studios - and their passionate global communities to the Xbox family. .



    Now that everything is official, we can start working together to bring more great games to everyone."

    During the statement, Phil says Bethesda will continue to make games "the way it always has" and confirmed that games will be released for non-Xbox platforms.

    Phil still says:

    "Gamers should know that Xbox, PC and Game Pass consoles will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC gamers.

    As we shared earlier, it is vitally important that Bethesda continues to make games the way they always have. We look forward to empowering Bethesda's creative teams to reach even more players around the world, helping to make future Bethesda titles the biggest and most popular games in their history.

    According to Phil Spencer, Bethesda will reveal more information about what's to come later this year.

    "In the meantime, to properly commemorate this special moment, we're bringing additional Bethesda games to Xbox Game Pass later this week. Stay tuned for more details!"

    Bethesda currently has two PS5 exclusives of Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo to release, where Xbox has said it will honor the commitment. In addition, PlayStation 5 players are still looking forward to the arrival of Indiana Jones, Starfield and Elder Scrolls V which have arrived on the PlayStation platform.

    According to the GamesBeat website, Microsoft will broadcast this Thursday (11) to answer questions about the acquisition of Bethesda. Additionally, Bethesda posted a video showing its journey to selling the company to Microsoft.

    European Union finally approves Microsoft's purchase of Bethesda

    In the video it says:

    Microsoft increases its number of game developers

    After acquiring ZeniMax Media, Microsoft had Xbox Game Studios increase its development teams from 15 to 23 teams in all.
