Microsoft renames its Xbox Game Pass subscription service

This weekend Microsoft apparently renamed its Xbox Game Pass subscription service to Game Pass only. If the change actually occurs, the signature logo will continue with the Xbox symbol, but without the word "Xbox", leaving the service's brand more minimalist.

The accounts "Xbox Game Pass" and "Xbox Game Pass for PC" posted on the social network Twitter last Saturday communicating about the change.

In case you've been hoping for the service to come to Nintendo Switch due to this name change, know that unfortunately that won't happen for now. Recently, Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division, during an interview with the GameStar YouTube channel, said:

"The important thing on other game console platforms is that we haven't been able to bring a full Xbox experience to those platforms. The other competitive platforms really aren't interested in having a full Xbox experience on their hardware. But for us, we want to be where gamers are. want to be and that's the path we're on."

While Microsoft wants to expand its platform no matter where it is, other console developers don't seem to want the same.

Microsoft stops offering 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscriptions

At the end of last month, Microsoft, without warning, decided to end its 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription service. The company says it is no longer selling 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscriptions on its online store and currently only has 1-month and 3-month options.
