A game themed Stranger Things It already seems to be in development, but we still don't know much about it. THE third season de Stranger Things is scheduled to debut in 4th of July of next year.
As part of its publicity campaign, the Netflix announced a new game for smartphone under the Stranger Things series.
The game is developed by Next Games of The Walking Dead fame. According to their press release:
"We are huge fans of Stranger Things and thrilled to be working together with Netflix to bring our shared vision of Stranger Things to life in a smartphone game format.
Our main focus will be on delivering Stranger Things' rich and intense themes, such as friendship and supernatural adventure, and translating them into entertainment for your mobile device.
Combined with Netflix's unrivaled ability to reach audiences around the world, we will deploy all of our accumulated creative and technological expertise to create a game for fans of the series around the world."

According to Netflix, the game will take place in the universe of Stranger Things, common 80's cartoon style.
The game will feature gameplay elements based on location and integration with Google Maps, which will allow players to explore The Upside Down hidden around them.
With the integration with Google Maps, it cannot be ruled out that you can explore real-world locations to unlock in-game elements. There's even a cooperative element to the game that will encourage players to team up.
It is not clear whether Netflix want to monetize the title or just use it as a promotion for the third season of Stranger Things.
The series has been largely successful and the game is sure to find many participants and hardcore franchise fans. The title is expected to come to Android and iOS platforms in 2020.
