New Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath trailer shows off the new Friendships

Mortal Kombat has a large number of characters, having both classic and new fighters. However, Mileena, one of the franchise's fan-favorite fighters, remains out of the game. Well, to give players a taste, NetherRealm Studios gave a small appearance to the character in the Aftermath expansion, which arrives soon for all platforms.

In Aftermath, the Mortal Kombat story will be augmented and introduce new playable characters. In addition to the new characters and plot, there is also the return of Friendships, which are jokes by the fighters at the end of the matches, as if it were a Fatalitie, but a joke.

Among the Friendships shown in the video below, there was a specific scene where Mileena appears and plays with her sister Kitana hugging her at the end.

NetherRealm Studios posted on the official Mortal Kombat 11 Twitter account saying:

"Yes, Mileena is in Kitana's Friendship. No, Mileena is not playable. #MKAftermath"

As you can see, the game's developers got into the Friendship joke, as it is obvious that several players have already asked for Mileena to be included in Mortal Kombat 11. However, in these requests, probably none of them specified whether it would need to be playable or not. No doubt they must be laughing a lot right now.

When Mileena appears in the trailer, she is wearing her classic Mortal Lombat II outfit, without any of the accessories that appear in later series. In other words, NetherRealm Studios really wanted to tease that specific "old school fan", just to get the hang of it.

Friendship aims to give a certain lightness to the game that is full of extremely violent scenes. Did you like this type of fighting submission? Comment below and share your opinion with us!

The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion will launch on May 26 (Tuesday). The title is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC (via Steam) and Stadia platforms.
