Dotemu and Tribute Games recently announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. This is the version based on the 16-bit game released many years ago for the Mega Drive. In the reveal trailer of the new title it is said that the game will arrive for the Nintendo Switch console.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge features classic ninja turtles Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello battling enemies like Foot Clan, Bebop, Rocksteady and, of course, the "big boss" Shredder. The arcade-style game has mechanics very similar to the title released for Mega Drive, check out an example video below:
Nintendo Switch may get Bluetooth headset support soon
The studio responsible for the new vintage ninja turtles game is Tribute Games, located in Montreal. Jonathan Lavigne and Justin Cyr, are some of those responsible for the creation of the company and previously worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and TMNT. The studio has already taken inspiration from other old games like Paladin, Flinthook, Wizorb and Mercenary Kings.
This new game appears to be a much more interesting project than other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles titles like Platinum Games and Red Fly Studio published by Activision.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first appeared in American comic books published by Mirage Studios. In 1986 Dark Horse Miniatures produced a set of 15cm lead figurines to capitalize on the fame. A year later, the ninja turtles action figure was released by Playmates Toys. In the same year, the animated TV series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 1987 premiered, making the work a great success.
Launch and availability
According to Nintendo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge will be released for Nintendo Switch in 2020. However, unfortunately, there is still no exact date for the release of the retro game.
