New version of PS5 is fully dismantled! See what the differences are!

Last week, there was a report that Sony had quietly released a revised version of the PS5 console. Thanks to Austin Evans, we were able to find out, through a video posted on his YouTube channel, more details about what had been changed besides the base screw and the video game weight.

According to the footage from the video made by Austin Evans showing the new version of the PlayStation 5 being entirely dismantled, we notice that the heatsink is considerably smaller than the original edition, reducing the weight by 300g. It is not yet known why Sony opted for this change, but Austin says that the unit analyzed warmed up more compared to the original version of the console, giving a difference of 3°C to 5°C.

The heatsink, copper plate and aluminum fins are known to take up considerable space on the PS5. Looking at it from this angle, it's interesting to see that the Japanese video game maker is downsizing this piece. This has sparked rumors that the company is already working on a smaller version of the console (commonly released under the name "Slim").

At the end of the video, Austin concludes that the changes made to the PS5 make it worse, due to the increase in temperature.
