Nintendo Switch may get a new model in 2021 according to report

According to recently revealed information, a new version of the Nintendo Switch console will be released in 2021. According to the Taipei Economic Daily News, the production of the new model hardware would start this year with a forecast for the first quarter of 2021.

According to the information provided by the newspaper, the enhanced edition of Nintendo Switch will have updated "interactivity" and improved display quality. The site's report mentions several hardware manufacturers responsible for flash storage, Joy-con controllers, and more.

In April of this year, according to videogameschronicle website, a new Nintendo Switch firmware made reference to new hardware that had not yet been announced. According to one engineer, firmware version 10.0.0 referenced the "nx-abcd" hardware model.

Analysts have even suggested that the Nintendo Switch may have a longer life cycle than planned. The Switch was released in the year 2017 and has sold approximately 61 million units as of June 30, 2020.

In January of this year, Nintendo even stated that it had no plans to release a new model of the Nintendo Switch in 2020. However, after this news above, it seems that the company is actually preparing something for next year.

It is important to remember that probably some Nintendo plans would have been greatly damaged due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, despite the lack of the Japanese console on the market, production was resumed after the increase in demand for the video game in the world.
