Nintendo Switch: New Firmware Update Now Available

On Monday (05), Nintendo released a new firmware update for the Nintendo Switch. The version offered to players is 12.0.0 and it brings the fix for a serious error in the backup of save data.

In addition to the fix, Nintendo also released the firmware update for controllers (Joy-Con, Pro Controller).

Check out the official patch notes.

    • We fixed the issue with the save data backup feature where, in rare cases, the automatic save data copy stops if a communication error occurs during the completion of the data save process.

    Nintendo opens new virtual store

Also on Monday, Nintendo opened its new online store that makes it easier for players to purchase new titles. The new virtual store, which replaces the Nintendo Store, can be accessed through the computer's web browser, allowing players to make purchases directly through the browser.

The virtual store has a large list of games, offering around 600 titles for users of the Big N console.

The new version of the eShop offers the same payment methods as the eShop found on Nintendo Switch. It is possible to purchase games using a credit card or prepaid card (gift card). One difference is that the new store does not allow the purchase of games by bank transfer, which was allowed by the Nintendo Store.

Now, games purchased on the site are registered to the Nintendo Account automatically, without the need to use a code to redeem the titles. It is also possible to start downloading the game on Switch remotely from the website.
