Soon the multiplayer shooter developed by Blizzard, Overwatch, will get a big news. The studio has announced that it is starting the cross-play beta (see what it is here) for the title, allowing PC and console gamers to play together in the same match.

Until now, Overwatch announcements for each of the platforms the game is present on were made separately, but with this update, all that will change. Now players will have an easier time finding matches online, as well as having fun with friends or random participants. This was already expected, as major titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone already have cross-play support.
While the arrival of cross-play in Overwatch is good news, unfortunately the game will not allow cross-save across platforms. That is, if you have an account with several interesting skins and a good level of XP on PC, you will not be able to access your profile on Nintendo Switch, for example. Recently, Overwatch Technical Director John Lafleur said on Reddit during an AMA (Ask Me Anything):
"Given the additional complexities of cross-save, it would probably make more sense to tackle cross-play first and then explore cross-save as a potential add-on."

According to Blizzard, to participate in the Overwatch cross-play beta, you will need to have a Battle.net account. Once registered, simply link your account to the console you use on Battle.net by going to your profile settings. This way you will be able to play with friends you've added on Battle.net.
If you register on Battle.net and log into Overwatch by the end of 2021, you will be offered a "golden" loot box with a legendary in-game item.
Launch and availability
According to the developers of Overwatch, the update will be available "soon".
