Players Get Free GTA IV and Episodes From Liberty City in Update

A few years ago in many games it was necessary to have a Games For Windows Live account, which was basically the PC version of Xbox Live. At the time it was quite innovative but it was also full of bugs and a lot of instability, often making it difficult for the player to enter a multiplayer session instead of helping him.

A few years after the launch of the service it was discontinued and brought various types of problems with authenticating original games, with some players needing to download Cracks in order to launch their favorite games.

Today in a Steam update the service was completely removed from Grand Theft Auto IV - or GTA IV - and with that measure players gained some gifts but also lost some options and game modes in the meantime.

The list of services that were lost is quite small but it already makes a big difference in the experience of everyone who still has fun playing with the character Niko bellic. Here is the list of services removed from the game:

• Games For Windows Live
• Multiplayer Mode
• Leaderboards
• RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM and Vice-City FM radios

Despite the loss of the items mentioned above, players and owners of copies of GTA IV and GTA IV: Episodes From Liberty City have won a small gift: if you only had one of the versions of the game, you will now receive Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition that counts with all expansions and extra game content at no additional cost.

Another good news is that the profiles saved by Games For Windows Live are compatible with the new version of the game, so don't worry because you won't lose any progress within the game, as the achievements that were also made by the services will be unavailable for some days, but they will be there soon.

About the three radio stations mentioned above, they will also be unavailable only temporarily, requiring some adjustments by the developers to get them back in the game, unfortunately the same cannot be said about the Multiplayer mode and the Leaderboards, which apparently are officially closed.

And last but not least, as of yesterday it is no longer possible to buy the game and expansions separately, only the Complete Edition with all the game-related content.
