"Sony China has confirmed that it plans to officially launch the PlayStation 5 in Mainland China during the second quarter of 2021. Tatsuo Eguchi, President of SIE Shanghai and Soeda Takehito, Vice President, confirmed the news today in a special greeting video from the Chinese new year"

Daniel Ahmad stated that the PlayStation 5 hardware was approved for sale in December of last year, so final preparations are still underway. Ahmad also recalled that the PS5 will take less time than the PlayStation 4 took to launch in China.

"The PlayStation 5 hardware was originally approved for sale in December and final preparations are underway, including software approval. The PS4 was originally released in March 2015 for China, so the PS5 will be faster."

Currently, many players already have a PlayStation 5 in China, but the units sold in the country are imported from Japan and other regions that have the gray market. With the official launch in the country, users will be able to enjoy their own PlayStation Network and will also be able to enjoy other features that will be exclusive.
