Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) will soon be holding its gaming awards event, the Playstation Awards 2019 (PS Awards). The awards have been held every year since 1994 and this is the twenty-fifth edition of the event, which also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Playstation.

The Playstation Awards will take place in the city of Tokyo, Japan, at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, where it is only possible to participate by invitation. But don't be sad, as Sony will be streaming the event live via YouTube streaming. There will be various award categories such as the Platinum Award, the Gold Award, the PlayStation Network Award, the PlayStation 25th Anniversary Users' Choice Award, the PlayStation VR Award, and the Indies & Developer Awards.

This year's guests for the PS Awards presentation will be John Kabira and Hatsune Matsushima. For the "Gold Award" titles will be chosen that reached the number of 500 thousand sales or more (assuming downloads). As for the "Platinum Award", the games chosen will be those that reached 1 million copies purchased in Japan and Asia.

There will also be an award for the Playstation Network, where the games with the best sales on the platform in the Asia and Japan region will be chosen. We will also have a specific award for games developed for Playstation VR (PS VR Award), where the titles that contributed the most to sales and generated excitement for the format will be awarded. To encourage small studios to develop more and more interesting games, there is the "Indies & Developer Award", which will elect 3 titles that contributed the most to innovation and variety of styles on Playstation.

Finally, there was a special initiative in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Playstation, where the "PlayStation Twenty-fifth Users Choice Award" was created. This award will be chosen by users, through voting, the five best titles of the PS Awards in the last 24 years. It is important to remember that voting ended on October 24th.
