Pokémon Go gets 120 FPS support on iPhones

the famous game Pokémon Go received a new update this week, and among the news is the inclusion of support for 120 FPS for devices running Apple's iOS system. With the 1.191.0 version, the "Advanced Settings" section of the app now includes an option that says "Unlock your device's native refresh rate for higher FPS". This will allow iPhone users to run the game much more smoothly and without crashes.

Pokémon Go gets 120 FPS support on iPhones

Until then, Pokémon Go could be run on iPhones with a maximum update of 60 FPS. With the update to version 1.191.0, it will be possible to run the game at up to 120 FPS. The novelty can be well used for newer models, such as the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, but it can also be activated on older devices, such as the iPhone 8 Plus, although it is not the ideal model for consistent production.

It is worth remembering that this option has been available for a long time in the Android version, but has finally arrived for iOS users as well. Another game that received the same news recently was the Genshin impact. In the 2.2 update, released in mid-October, iPhones were also given a frame rate unlock up to 120 FPS.

According to Sam Byford of The Verge, the experience of running Pokémon Go on the iPhone 13 Pro with the frame rate at 120 Hz made the gameplay much more attractive and comfortable.

"I tried it on my iPhone 13 Pro and felt a huge difference. Pokémon Go isn't the most visually complicated game, of course, but there's a lot of scrolling and camera movement, and the smoother touch response is much better when you're lining up one finger pokeball throw."

It is worth remembering, however, that leaving the option activated will consume more battery power on the device as well.
