PS5 controller, DualSense, has 1,5x more battery capacity than DualShock 4

PS5 controller, DualSense, has 1,5x more battery capacity than DualShock 4

Recently, Sony revealed the release date and prices of the Playstation 5 and along with the long-awaited news, came the specifications of the controller developed for the PS5, the DualSense. Even with more functions, which even promise greater immersion to the player, the new controller of the next generation console has a battery with a greater capacity than the DualSchock 4, being about 1,5 times larger than the battery of its predecessor (1560mAh against 1000mAh).

Although the battery capacity of the DualSense is known, unfortunately it is not yet known how it behaves in terms of energy consumption. If the consumption is high, the larger battery will not be an advantage, as players will have to charge the controller more often. However, it is expected that there will be some savings due to the use of Bluetooth 5.1 for the connection between the PS5 and the DualSense.

At least, even if consumption is higher when DualSense uses all its technologies, especially haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, the controller will have faster charging due to its USB-C port.
