Shall we follow the usual? Yes sure! Why not? That's what the Chinese government probably thought when banning PUBG: Battlegrounds game competitions in the country. Although the game's popularity is growing more and more, the title has unfortunately not yet been approved by the China National Press and Publication Administration or NAPP.
It's not hard to bet that China has probably the toughest stance in the world towards gaming. Not long ago, the Chinese government restricted the time spent on games for young people in the country, affecting several publishers and game studios.

The reason
According to Sports Business Journal, the reason for blocking PUBG-related competitions is the delay in approval by China's regulatory agency, NAPP. The information came through the vice chairman of the China Culture Management Association esports Committee, Yibo Zhang. He says that the ban did not directly affect live streams of games, as the focus of repression is PUBG tournaments, but he adds:
"This ban affects thousands of PUBG tournament organizers, teams, content creators, streamers and professional players."
